Allyson holds a Bachelors of Arts in Anthropology from Case Western Reserve University and a Masters of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies focusing on conflict resolution, human rights law, and anthropology from American University. She has worked in technology enhanced and distance learning at American University (2009-2011), Makerere University (2011-2012), and the American University of Afghanistan (2012-2013).
Currently, Allyson is pursuing a dual-title PhD in Adult Education and Comparative International Education.. Her research focuses on adult and youth education in conflict affected environments where formal education is unreliable or inaccessible, NGOs, and empowerment through technology enhanced learning in low resource settings, particularly focusing her efforts on women’s education.
