Earlier this year, former Uber engineer Susan Fowler revealed that Uber failed to properly address her claims of sexual harassment. In response to her and others’ accusations regarding Uber’s treatment of female employees, the company hired former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder to conduct a probe of the company. The result of this probe was a 13-page report with recommendations on how to fix the many problems concerning Uber’s work culture (see our response to the report).
“It’s just a report — now [Uber] actually has to make things happen,” said Elizabeth Ames, Senior Vice President of Marketing, Alliances, and Programs at the Anita Borg Institute. “It definitely paints a picture of a company that was out of control.”
