Indian Budget Should Focus on Women Entrepreneurs

Out of the 58.5 million entrepreneurs in the world, less than 14 percent are women. Although initiatives such as “Startup India,” “Make in India,” and “Stand-Up India” were created to address this issue, the Indian government needs to do much more to support women entrepreneurs. Geetha Kannan, Managing Director of the Anita Borg Institute (ABI) India, stressed the need for reform and for India’s 2017 budget to provide opportunities for women in technology.
