The Golden Age for Women Entrepreneurs

More and more women are rising in their industries as they gain access to mentors, role models, and other essential resources. Over the last few years, the number of women entrepreneurs increased at twice the rate of their male counterparts. In fact, 10 of the start-up companies in CNBC’S inaugural Upstart 25 list were founded by women. “There is more of a focus on hearing what women have to offer and recognizing the value of investing in them,” says Elizabeth Ames, senior vice president of marketing, alliances and programs at the Anita Borg Institute (ABI).
