Creating safe and inclusive environments in the workforce is more important than ever, as reflected by a blog post written by former Uber employee Susan Fowler. Fowler describes in her post how uncomfortable she felt in such an alpha male culture, and states she even faced sexual harassment at work.
“What was reflected in that blog post happens in plenty of other places,” said Elizabeth Ames, senior vice president of marketing, alliances, and programs at the Anita Borg Institute (ABI). “Everyone in the valley seems to have a friend or a friend of a friend who has had a similar experience. It’s three degrees of separation.”
