Wanting to start her own business, Fatima Yusuf quit her management consulting job and moved to New York City. She immersed herself in the design and tech scenes to co-found Tressle, a home furnishing and decor platform. Although she was successful with her startup, Fatima recognizes that many other women entrepreneurs face barriers such as a lack of support and funding. That’s why she promotes organizations that work to increase diversity in the tech field.
“I am a big fan of the Anita Borg Institute and the work they do to promote women in tech globally,” Fatima said. “Their studies and initiatives have been cited regularly to demonstrate the impact of diverse teams on innovation and overall organizational performance.”
