Celebrating the 25th Anniversary of Systers at OSCON

When Sarah Novotny, co-chair of the OSCON conference, contacted me about organizing a celebration of Systers’ 25th anniversary, it was a wonderful surprise. A quick conversation with Rose Robinson later, and we were able to get the ball rolling. If you’ll be attending OSCON or will be in and around Portland, Oregon on July 18, 2012, we hope you’ll join us!

OSCON’s organizers have graciously offered to host lunch for all Systers attending the conference and any community members who would like to join us. We’ll gather in Hall E of the Oregon Convention Center starting at 12 noon. There is no need to RSVP in advance, but we do need Systers to have registered either for the OSCON conference or a complimentary Expo Hall pass in order to be admitted to the convention center.

You can obtain a complimentary Expo Hall pass by entering code SYSTERSEXPO on the conference registration form. You might also be interested in some of these events and activities co-located with OSCON, all of which are free of charge. Last but not least, we need all Systers planning to attend lunch to bring a special ticket with them.

Details on obtaining the ticket will be sent to the Systers mailing list, so keep an eye out for a message with the subject “Systers at OSCON” from yours truly. The same message will also contain a registration discount code specifically for Systers.

Many thanks to the folks at O’Reilly Media for their support of Systers, and special thanks to Sarah Novotny and Suzanne Axtell for helping us all come together for lunch in celebration of the 25th anniversary of Systers. I hope to see you at OSCON!
