Each year, the Anita Borg Institute for Women and Technology (ABI) invites 1 highly qualified undergraduate or graduate students from all schools join our community for the summer.
Students with high academic and technical achievement, a passion for women’s issues, and an interest in an internship in a non-profit are encouraged to apply. Applicants should provide their resume, transcript and optional letters of reference.
At ABI interns become an integral part of our community. We value the new ideas and fresh perspectives which students bring. We consider your internship to be an important and exciting part of your education. We want your experience at ABI to increase your understanding of the breadth of the field and the many ways of doing research in it.
Upon arrival at the beginning of the summer, students spend their first week learning about the various aspects of the Grace Hopper Celebration. The projects typically span the many areas of research, web design, editing, project coordination and administration.
Please browse our site for more information on ABI programs and information and the website for the Grace Hopper Celebration.
There is a very competitive monthly stipend
ABI’s History
The Anita Borg Institute for Women and Technology is a nationally recognized organization that provides platforms allowing women’s voices, ideas and spirits to influence technology. The participants in the Anita Borg Institute’s programs are an unusual mix of academics and industry, and include many of the technology thought leaders of today. Its impact is significant on the lives and careers of women who both work in the technology field and are affected by technology.
Our mission is to increase the impact of women on all aspects of technology, to increase the positive impact of technology on the lives of the world’s women, and to help communities, industry, education and government benefit from these increases.
