underwrites upcoming Anita Borg Award for Technical Leadership
PALO ALTO, Calif., July 19, 2006 – The Anita Borg Institute for Women and Technology (ABI) today announced that Intel Corporation has become a full sponsor for ABI and will underwrite the Anita Borg Technical Leadership Award, to be announced in October 2006. Intel joins a host of leading high-tech companies who are committed to the advancement of the ABI’s critical mission to increase the impact of women on all aspects of technology and to increase the positive impact of technology on the lives of the world’s women.

In addition to its financial sponsorship of ABI, Intel recently announced that they will underwrite the prestigious Anita Borg Award for Technical Leadership. The $10,000 Award recognizes an outstanding woman technical leader who has inspired the women’s technology community through outstanding technological and social contributions. The recipient will be announced at the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing Conference, sponsored jointly by ABI and the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), October 4-7, 2006, in San Diego, California.
