Mayfield’s Chief Financial Officer James Beck
Joins Anita Borg Institute Board of Trustees
Palo Alto, California, Jan. 31, 2006 - The Anita Borg Institute for Women and Technology (ABI) today announced that James Beck, Chief Financial Officer and Managing Director at Mayfield has joined its Board of Trustees and has been named the organization.s Treasurer. Mr. Beck brings sophistication and professionalism to the overall management, accounting and finance of ABI. The Board provides broad policy leadership for the organization. Their role is critical to the continuing advancement of the Anita Borg Institute.s mission to increase the impact of women on all aspects of technology and to increase the positive impact of technology on the world’s women.
Beck joined Mayfield in 1998 as Controller and was promoted to Chief Financial Officer in December 2000. Previously, he was an Audit Manager for Arthur Andersen serving numerous Silicon Valley clients in software, hardware and service organizations. To stay abreast of current trends and issues in business and management, James attended the well-known UC Berkeley Executive Program at the Haas School of Business and graduated in 2002. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Accounting from the University of the Pacific.
