News Help ABI Impact More Technical Women

The Anita Borg Institute’s programs make a true difference in the lives of technical women, their organizations, and the world. We are thankful for the support, commitment, and passion of our sponsors and community.

We now need your help to impact even more women. From now until December 6, your individual donations will be matched dollar for dollar (up to $15,000), thanks to a generous challenge grant from an anonymous donor. If we meet our goal, this will result in $30,000 in funding toward our many programs — a portion of which includes international scholarships for technical women.

Our international scholarships and awards celebrate the accomplishments of technical women from emerging countries. Specifically, our Change Agent Awards provide women outside the United States with Grace Hopper Conference scholarships that pay for travel expenses, hotel accommodations, and conference registration.

Past Change Agent winners from Nigeria, Brazil, Egypt, Bahrain, India, and Georgia were not only inspired by their experience at the conference, but some have started their own conferences and continue to find ways of encouraging women to pursue studies in computer science and engineering.

To help us increase our impact and reach even more technical women around the globe, we are asking for your donation. Please pledge whatever you can (even $5 or $10) to help us meet this $15,000 goal.

For this short period until December 6, your donations will be matched, giving them twice the impact! There are several ways to donate; please visit our Donate page to learn more.

We thank you for your support, wish you very happy holidays, and all the best in 2008!
