News Anita Borg Institute for Women and Technology Announces Keynote Speaker and Emcee for Women of Vision Awards Banquet Padmasree Warrior, CTO of Cisco to Keynote



 

Palo Alto, CA, January 20 2008 — Padmasree Warrior, Chief Technology Officer at Cisco, will be the keynote speaker at the Women of Vision Awards Banquet on April 30, 2009 at the Fairmont Hotel in San Jose, CA. The annual Anita Borg Institute Women of Vision Awards honor women making significant contributions to technology in three categories: Innovation, Leadership, and Social Impact (www.anitaborg.org/wov). Sydnie Kohara, CBS 5 News Anchor, will be the Master of Ceremonies again this year.

As Cisco’s CTO, Padmasree Warrior is responsible for helping drive the company’s technological innovations and strategy. Prior to joining Cisco she was CTO at Motorola where she led a team of 26,000 engineers and directed Motorola Labs. Under her leadership Motorola received the 2004 National Medal of Technology and the Economic Times ranked her as the 11th Most Influential Global Indian.
