The Anita Borg Institute for Women and Technology is pleased to announce the 2006 TechLeaders Workshop for Senior Women. Hosted and sponsored by IBM, the focus of this workshop is "Managing Change". This event will be held at the Thomas J. Watson Research Center located on the IBM campus in Yorktown Heights, NY and consist of an evening dinner on Monday, May 15th and an all-day workshop on Tuesday, May 16th.
TechLeaders brings together powerful women who exercise major influence on the technology community in areas such as computer and computational science and applied mathematics from the areas of industry, government and academia. This workshop focuses on building critical skills for success in leadership roles and provides a venue where women leaders can meet to share ideas, tactics, and strategies while learning together. Participants are given an opportunity to expand and deepen relationships with other senior women in the technical community while discussing the issue of evolution in the field of computer science.
TechLeaders is a program of the Anita Borg Institute for Women and Technology. “Managing Change” is the fifth in a series of workshops for senior women leaders.
Facilitator
The facilitator for the workshop is Kris Pederson, Partner, IBM Business Consulting Services. Kris is an expert in large-scale business transformation associated with business process and system integration efforts. Kris will focus on leadership development that will help to enhance professional women’s abilities, performance, and confidence in situations where they feel unheard and less effective than they wish when leading or participating in discussions, meetings, or group negotiations.

Local transportation
We will have 2 shuttle vans leaving the Marriott at 6:00 p.m. on the 15th for the attendees to get to the site for the 6:30 reception at IBM. These same vans bring folks back to the Marriot at 8:30 p.m.
Transportation to the workshop on the 16th will again be vans that leave the Marriot at 7 a.m. and another at 7:15 a.m. If there is a need for another trip we will have another van pick up again at 8:00 a.m. There will be 2 vans to bring the attendees back to the hotel from Yorktown at 5 p.m.
