This two-day workshop featured Jo Miller, CEO of Women’s Leadership Coaching and focused on extending participants’ power and influence as a technical woman through increased organizational awareness, negotiation techniques, strategies to increase their visibility, and influence techniques to increase buy in for their ideas. 70 women from 13 companies attended. Represented companies included: Amazon.com, Boeing, Microsoft, Intel, Adobe, Buunabet, Adobe, Broadcom, CapGemini, IBM, and Google.
Opening remarks were delivered by Werner Vogels, Chief Technology Officer and Vice President of Amazon.com. Dr. Vogels talked about the customer orientation of Amazon.com, and how the technological innovation at Amazon is largely driven by this customer focus. He expressed that the participants’ attendance to TechLeaders was important because he wanted to see more women in leadership positions in technology.
