Systers®: 25th Anniversary

About | FAQ | 25th Anniversary| Best of Systers

2012 is Systers 25th Anniversary. Join us this year as we celebrate our Systers community 25th anniversary. It was in 1987 when Anita Borg created an email community for women in computing. The goal was to “increas[e] the number of women in computer science and mak[e] the environments in which women work more conducive to their continued participation in the field.”

To kick off our 25th anniversary celebration, we are holding Global meetups for Systers around the world. We invite all technical women and women in the computing field to join in this special celebration. Please find the regional/city listing below along with the name of the coordinator and email address so that you can contact them if you are interested in joining. We suggest always RSVP’ing to each coordinator so that they can notify venue on space needed.

We hope you join us as we kick off our 25th Systers anniversary. We have a list of participating cities below and also the main point of contact for RSVP’ing to a meetup. Join the conversation on Systers Meetup Everywhere. We hope to see you there!
