Call for Nominations
Deadline to submit online is June 15,2007
The Anita Borg Change Agent Awards celebrate the accomplishments of technical women from emerging countries. These awards are designed to recognize up-and-coming leaders that impact or advance women’s participation in technology, while also internationally expanding the reach of the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing conference.
Three individual Awards will be given to women in computing that:
- Demonstrate leadership within their communities
- Expand opportunities and influence the careers of girls and women in technology
- Demonstrate impact on advancing women’s participation in technology
- Establish the desire to attend the conference
- Demonstrate financial need
Each award includes reimbursement of travel expenses to/from the conference, hotel accommodations, full conference registration, the opportunity to participate in a conference session, and recognition in the printed program at the 2007 Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing Conference. Women of all ages and education levels are encouraged to apply. Please read the complete details about this award in order to nominate yourself or others for consideration.
Required Materials
You will be required to supply the following:
- Introductory statement that describes an overview of your work, accomplishments, and country context. This is not to exceed one page.
- Statement of merit that addresses the candidacy requirements and goals specified in this document – please address all areas of competency as descried in the overview section. This is not to exceed one page.
- Curriculum vitae or résumé
- Two letters of reference from professional contacts
We will accept online submissions only.
The curriculum vitae or resume, statement of merit, and letters of reference must be in separate Microsoft Word or text documents available for upload. You will submit an introductory statement and contact information via a web form. You may be asked to provide additional information or clarify information at the request of the committee chairperson.
Schedule
- Application deadline is June 15, 2007
- Finalists will be selected by June 27, 2007
- Recipients will be notified by July 16, 2007
