The Anita Borg Change Agent Scholarship will be given to up to two women in computing who have expanded opportunities and influenced the careers of girls and women in technology outside the United States. Applicants/nominees must establish their need for financial support to attend the conference. The recipient(s) will have all expenses paid to attend the 2006 Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing Conference and recognized at its award banquet.
The goals of the scholarship are:
- To continue and build on Anita Borg’s vision of women as equal partners in the development and use of computing around the world
- To recognize change agents, increase their visibility, and establish them as role models for others beyond their existing spheres of influence
- To provide a forum - the Grace Hopper Conference - for exchanging best practices, needs and opportunities, success and failure stories
This scholarship program was generously established by Dr. Fran Allen, recipient of the 2004 inaugural Anita Borg Technical Leadership Award.
Nominations are now closed.
