Nancy Hafkin will present what we need to do to unleash the possibility of women as innovators - in a knowledge society and a knowledge economy.
Nancy J. Hafkin was on the original team of UN researchers to identify the impact of the intersection of gender, technology and development and has been an innovator in the field for over 30 years. Living in Ethiopia between 1975 and 2000, Hafkin worked throughout Africa when she headed the Pan African Development Information System and served as team leader for promoting information technology to women in support of African development. She was also Chief of Research & Publications at the African Training & Research Center for Women, a division of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa.
