Who We Are: Sheila Van Groningen

Vice President, Airborne ISR, Cyber Intelligence Division, Northrop Grumman Information Systems

Sheila Van Groningen is the Director for the Airborne Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) Systems Business Unit focusing on airborne ISR SIGINT sensor systems development, integration, production, deployment and support. The ISR Systems portfolio includes key programs such as the Air Force ASIP and Army Guardrail Family of Programs. Also included in her portfolio are products such as the CSS-1500 and CSS-4000 which are small scaled COMINT sensors, and the Argus PED SIGINT command/control, enhanced visualization and forensics tool.

Ms Van Groningen began her professional career at TRW/ESL (which was acquired by Northrop Grumman in 2002) as a Member of Technical Staff. Her first assignment was software design and development of an embedded real-time signals processing system delivered to the National Intelligence community. Since then she has held a variety of leadership positions in program and proposal management, business development and general management.

She also worked at Cisco Systems for 4 years in leadership positions supporting the Operations, Marketing, System Architecture and Engineering organizations to develop and deliver high reliability switches and high end routers for DoD and commercial communications providers.

Ms Van Groningen earned her bachelor of sciences degree from Santa Clara University. She is a graduate for corporate senior leadership and business leadership programs.
