Who We Are: Kathy Hill

Senior Vice President, Development Strategy & Operations, Cisco Systems, Inc.

Kathy Hill brings more than 30 years of product development and management experience to her position as Senior Vice President for Cisco’s Development Strategy & Operations. In this capacity she oversees the implementation and governing of cross-segment technology architectures, Cisco IOS Software and network management development, global government solutions, and Cisco’s product development operations.

Hill is also one of five members of the Cisco Development Council who jointly lead the global Cisco Development Organization and focus on the delivery of Cisco products and solutions to customers. In addition, Hill co-leads the Connected Architecture Council, a cross-functional corporate council responsible for leading the strategy for Cisco’s architectural differentiation.

Previously, Hill was Senior Vice President of the Access Networking & Services Group, where she oversaw the Access Routing, Ethernet Switching, Security, Wireless and Small Business technology groups, which delivered over $12 billion of Cisco’s annual revenues. In her earlier role as Vice President and General Manager of Cisco’s Desktop Switching Business Unit, Hill led the group as Cisco’s stackable Ethernet switch achieved multibillion-dollar revenues and also achieved record market share. Prior to joining Cisco, Hill was Vice President at Ascend. She also held senior management positions at Newbridge Networks and Hughes Network Systems.

Hill is a Board of Trustees Member of the Anita Borg Institute for Women and Technology. She holds a bachelor’s of science degree in mathematics from the Rochester Institute of Technology.
