Former Student, Northwestern University
Eugenia Gabrielova is a senior at Northwestern University, studying Computer Science in the McCormick School of Engineering. Eugenia has worked on Distributed Systems research in the Aqualab at Northwestern, under the guidance of Dr. Fabián Bustamante. In Summer 2009, she worked with Dr. Magdalena Balazinska in the Databases Lab at the University of Washington as a participant in the CRA-W Distributed REU program. She is particularly interested in the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Distributed Systems.
Eugenia is the Technology Director for the NU chapter of the Society of Women Engineers and is involved with NU FREECS (Female Researchers in EECS). This is her first year attending the Grace Hopper Celebration. When she is not pursuing her passion for science, Eugenia enjoys hiking, rock climbing, running, cooking, and learning about the environment.
