Who We Are: Carole Dulong

Senior Staff Engineer, Google

Carole DulongCarole received her diploma of Engineer in Computer Science at Institut Superieur d’Electronique de Paris, in Paris, France. She is a Senior Staff Engineer in the software platform group at Google. Prior to joining Google, Carole spent 16 years at Intel. She was a member of the five architect definition team who defined the Intel architecture MMX multimedia extensions. As the IPF Multimedia, and Floating Point Architect, she led a team of Intel and HP architects who defined the multimedia and floating point instruction sets for IA64. She initiated a collaboration with the Impact compiler project from University of Illinois., and completed a port of Impact to IA64 architecture. She led the product compiler team that released the first IPF product compiler. She is co-author of a book, “The Complete Guide to MMX Technology”. She has published over 12 papers, including 4 on the Intel Technology Journal. She holds over 40 patents in the area of Computer Architecture, and multimedia computing. She is the co-chair of the Advisory board of the Anita Borg Institute for Women in Technology.
